* (b. 1990, Rovigo, IT) artist, researcher and facilitator, works exploring the intersection of memory, culture, affectivity and place.
She connects anthropological and cultural perspectives with a poetic and micropolitical approach, unveiling what emerge in the gaps between the said and unsaid, the known and narrated, the visible and the perceived, through traces of stories often hidden or forgotten between the everyday performed and the concealed —whether due to utility, shame, or neglect.
Weaving together personal and collective narratives, her practice is rooted in dialogue with communities and territories, engaging in conversations, archival research and participatory processes. Her practice acts as a form of cultural mediation, adapting to specific contexts to uncover and reimagine the narratives, dynamics and potentials of spaces and communities she encounters.
With a background in Anthropological Sciences (BA) and Educational Project Management (MA) and Gender Studies, from the University of Bologna, and in Visual Arts from the Academy of Venice (MA), Valeria completed an MFA in Art Praxis and Research at the DAI, Dutch Art Institute, she works with words, voice and sound, transforming her research into sound installations, performances and dramaturgies that invite reflection on the relationship between people, places and shared imaginaries.
She has collaborated on artistic and socially engaged projects across Italy, the Netherlands and France, within public, independent and institutional spaces. She currently lives and works between Italy and the Netherlands.
